The Barrier Beach Blues and Arts Festival: June 5th- 7th, 2014

The Barrier Beach Blues and Arts Festival is the creation of founder, JohannaM , Artists in Partnership, Inc. (which she is the Executive Director of) and the Long Beach Public Library. The festivals have been taking place in Long Beach, New York every Summer since 2009 with funding from grants provided through the NYS Council on the Arts Decentralization Grants and administered by the Huntington Arts Council, the Long Beach Public Library and local supporters and lovers and supporters of the BLUES.
Our 1st Festival featured "Ladies Sing the Blues" followed by the "Delta" Juke Joint Blues experience and the 3rd highlighted the "Memphis" Blues. Our 4th Festival, which was also co-produced by Howie Haber, celebrated our local Long Island Blues Scene, our newly inducted Blues Statesmen and Women and featured local and regional performers over 4 days in a variety of venues. Our 5th Festival celebrated the "Chicago" Blues

In addition to the Blues Festivals, JohannaM produces "Folk 2 Funk", Kickin' Country, and is a co-producer of Cabaret, Hip Hop: Keepin' it Real and Arts in the Plaza.
